Hi

I have been asked by a client to look at a scantronic 9600 keypad .

The problem is that if you press any key nothing happens ,apart from a bleep.

The keypad appears to have locked .

The day date and time are visible .

The problem started after a builder removed 2 contacts on a door without telling the owner of the property .

I do not know if the two are connected but any advice would be most welcome.

Thanks

Mark

hi Marks,

it sounds like it has locked out on tamper, try repowering and entering the code that should sort it, then you will have to repair the cable fault.

Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

Hi mark key pad is normally wired up using 4 core but you only need 3cores back to the control panel make sure the signal wire is ok from the control panel to the key pad any error messages the builder might have damaged a cable if no joy reset the nvm if you know how if not pm me :)

I've also had a keypad lock up in the past, try removing and reapplying 12v at the keypad.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Try taking the panel cover off then putting it back on then enter 99 this should clear it if not measure the resistance between the cable if faulty replace and then try.
