siren Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 I'm sure there will be a lot worse firms out there, just they haven't been publicised yet. What I don't know, I don't want to know.
IAS Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 Both statements came from websites with NSI/SSAIB badges on them. In terms of the statements themselves, you could substitute alarm/police for say, car/breakdown recovery. whats worse - guaranteed or "automatic" Because we are an approved company we can install alarms with automatic Police response ....
Cubit Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 whats worse - guaranteed or "automatic" Ah, semantics and the written word. The former has some wiggle room time wise, the latter infers there is none.
A-G Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 To be honest, if I wasn't in this industry and I had an alarm installed that had Police response I would presume the response was a certainty regardless of any wording ...... and if they didn't respond to a request to do so, I would blame the Police and not the alarm company . . . PM me for access to the SSAIB members discussion area.
arfur mo Posted June 13, 2010 Posted June 13, 2010 memorable conversation with a Police Sergeant way back, i'd attended and alarm and discovered a broken window old 999 days, neighbour told the client the Police had showed up but had drove off, anyway woman a very prissy local magistrate went berserk on the phone to local cop shop. result so this copper returned. when asked why they had not spotted the obvious broken window, he said they could not enter the rear garden without being asked by the home owner, as if it had been a false alarm she might have been sunbathing naked and been disturbed and distressed by the officers storming in and effectively trespassing i did not pass comment but wondered if i should aske "would that be with truncheons drawn then?" just did not have the nerve though . Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Well, at least those that haven't been burgled yet anyway.
