Guest debs Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Hi, I am decorating at the moment and need to move a sensor on a concept system alarm down about 3". Would I be able to do this myself without messing up the system? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks, Debs p.s. I don't know where the main power supply unit is...
Smart Electrics Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Hi Debs Do You own and have access to the system ie engineer codes because if you tamper with this sensor you will create a tamper fault on the system and you will need this code to reset the system to normal if it has been set this way by the installer. The other point is you could limit your detection by moving this PIR and lose you protection for this zone. My advice is if you need the PIR moved then to contact either your alarm company or find a companey that would do the job. Have a look on this site as there are companys based all over the UK in the forums. If the system is maintained or you rent the system then do not touch it as a call out would be quite expensive.
Guest debs Posted July 24, 2004 Posted July 24, 2004 Hi, Thanks for the quick reply. We do own the system and have the manual sheet with the factory set conditions and the engineer code (assuming this hasn't been changed). We're only moving it a few inches down so don't think it should affect the detection. Would we need to put it in engineer programming mode before we tried to move it? We don't have an alarm company (it was installed before we got here) and cannot find 'concept systems' to contact them. Do you still think we need an engineer and if so would anyone do it? Any ideas as to a reaonable cost for this if we need an engineer? Help is much appreciated. D

If you would like to post your area not your whole address. I cover North Hampshire and parts of Berkshire.
