Map Security Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 I have a customer who has purchased a second hand DM DVR and an unbranded PTZ. We have having problems getting the DVR to control. If correct I seem to recall that a BBV interface( or somthing like this) is required. Can anyone confirm OR should the DVR just control PTZ just like with a normal DVR.. There is no problem with protocol and both are set to Pelco D 2400 baud. Many thx Chris
james.wilson Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 are you trying to use coax telemetry or twisted pair? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
SUBS Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Not trying to teach you to suck eggs I hope, but is Polaruty of twisted pair right, and the address right ? Some budget domes= Cop ones anyway wont accept programming pre-sets under No 16 with DM Sprites for some reason Edit. Come to think of it, I'm not sure that DM units support Pelco D.
Pedders Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 Just checked a site that I cover and Pelco D doesn't show up in the list of protocols. (DS2) Pelco P or Pelco Coax only. Pete Bennett Northern CCTV Services T: 0845 838 7383 E: info@northern-cctv.co.uk www.northern-cctv.co.uk
james.wilson Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 you might be able to update the firmware. I think the later units had pelco d. Pedders Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 The one i just checked was running Software Version: 04.5 (062) M2IP - 03.1 (09.2) Which should be the latest version, loads of protocols on there but not Pelco D sadly. Pedders Posted July 8, 2010 Posted July 8, 2010 James, Got the info connecting through netvu observer and then into config. Seems an RX100 could be the way to go. Pete. Pete Bennett Northern CCTV Services T: 0845 838 7383 E: info@northern-cctv.co.uk www.northern-cctv.co.uk
