hpotter Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 use it to label quite a lot of bits eg spurs if side by side etc. dont use to label cables anymore too much pita. use resistor colour code grommets these days.
Guest Oxo Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 True never label cables as such. Used to a numeric sticker you can get from wholesalers. Similar to your grommets but more like a hand held printer label. I so hate people that write on the outer insulation, how freakin hard is it to read when its busy in there! Numbers are best and I tend to use the zoning with it also. So cable 1 = zone 1 or 1001 ect. Cable labels
hpotter Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 tried them too, but ended up prefering these. dont need to squint to see cable number (unless colour blind which case wrong job). cable 2013 red, black, brn, orange. they got the digits on too. (cable 024 as above :'( )
james.wilson Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 never thought of using them we use securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
hpotter Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 0 4 something! Think mine are better something red?
Guest Oxo Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Rofl, you`ll make sure next time to take a better photo! As I said James, markers are *****. Some numbers to imitate zones ot a small card with an index ( My perfered method). Takes a few mins on overall install, but saves eons when chasing cables about. A small cost for a time saving method. Use them anywhere Fire , CCTV need I go on.
james.wilson Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 still use markers. Have done since 1991 (when we decided to stop using the 3M tape dispenser cos they fell off!) securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
