Guest keith Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 hi, I am setting up my control panel, a Honeywell securit 802. I have located the panel out of sight in a small room which houses the electric meter, Consumer unit, coats & hats etc, to keep it from view. This room is off the entrance hall and has a window to outside.I have installed a PIR in this room to protect the panel, there is another PIR covering the front door in the entrance hall. I am setting up the entry route, and the hall PIR will be the one which triggers the entry timer. My question please is: do I set up the PIR covering the panel to be 'Alarm with walk through' or 'Entry route'? I don't want to trigger an alarm when disarming the panel on entry, but I want it to activate the alarm if anyone gains entry through the window into the room where the panel is located. Similarly, the PIR in the hall should be set to entry route (option 7 when programming) but should it be set to be 'Alarm with walk through' (option2) as well? in case anyone gains entry other than the front door. Many thanks in advance guys.
james.wilson Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 If your starting entry time with the pir in the all it needs to be an entry zone. The detector by the panel needs to be a walk through. Guest keef Posted July 23, 2010 Posted July 23, 2010 James, so with the securit panel only one option can be set for each zone, so the PIR in the 'cloakroom' will just be programed as 'Alarm with walkthrough', no other option needed. I will set the Hall as 'entry route' (no other program needed) and that should mean that no-one can enter the 'cloakroom' through the outside window without triggering the alarm, and no-one can enter the property from upstairs and get into the downstairs hall without triggering an alarm zone from one of the PIR's upstairs. Hope that's right, phew a bit complicated for a first timer, but getting my head around the terminology.
