the-oneil Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Our Alarm system - a Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 is generating this fault when we try to set the Alarm SMS Comms fail Setting abborted Followed by Manager reset required I am at a loss of what to do?! Anyone?
james.wilson Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 your system requires an engineer reset. That is probably due to the comms failure. ie an sms has tried to be sent but it hass not been able to deleiver it to the message centre. Without more inof my initial thoughts are you need to contact your maintainer. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

I thought i could clear it somehow without having to waste a day waiting for them to come over Ah well, if any one else of you knowledgeable people have a solution!
james.wilson Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 my bad. I read it as engineer reset. Its not its manager reset. All you need to do is acknowledge it with your manager code. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Oxford Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Do you know the manager code? Is the system monitored?
the-oneil Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 I only have my personal code, which i normally don't use as i use the Fob to set/unset. I tried that code, but no joy. System is Not monitored.
james.wilson Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 there will be a manager code, You will use it to enter the menus, view logs, chnage codes etc securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Guest Oxo Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 You may only have a lower level user code. A manager has to be used, try setting the system saying yes to set with faults then unset. That should clear it.
the-oneil Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 I received a call from my supplier and they guided me through clearing it. I was also advised next time they visit to maintain the system, that i should ask for my code to be upgraded to manager level.
Guest Oxo Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Your maintainer will not be able to give you a higher level code without deleting every other code in the system. You have to get the highest code user to do this.
