i assume its locked up & was "fixed" last time be removing power & battery & restarting ?

don't electrocute yourself & I'm not worth suing if you do

Thanks Mr Happy, its not broken, i think it just needs resetting or reprogramming

2008 has it been looked at since?

Battery don't last for ever, 3 - 5 years average. No batt last time so mow may well need replacing, common cause of the fault you have on this make I believe.

Arfur

If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

As already mentioned sounds like it needs a reboot. But if your not comfortable with that your going to have to call someone.

Concept is knocking on now, might be passed it anyways

Thank you for your advice, can you tell me how to reboot, is it just the main panel? which is situated in my bedroom,

i believe thats all it needs too.

Hi Kelly: To Re-boot the system you need to completely remove power from the Control Panel, both Mains and Battery & then re-apply power. Please Be aware: If you do not fully understand what you are doing then this is Dangerous and the reason we recommend you call an Engineer. Also as has been said previously you really do need to have the Battery replaced & this may well stop the problem happening again in the future.

Unfortunately that's what a lot of people seem to think, however the simple answer is yes it can. The LED's on the panel take very little power to run & the battery may well cope with this in the Disarmed state, but when you try to arm the system then more power is pulled by the panel and the Battery voltage may well drop below what the Electronics in the panel see as acceptable limits. The panel will see this as a fault & stop the system being set. The other thing that happens is that at certain times of the day your mains voltage drops & normally a good battery will help supply the power needed by the panel, a bad battery won't do this and this can cause a lock up. An Engineer should have the equipment to check the Battery in the panel and prove whether it's faulty or not.

No problem, only sorry we could'nt get you a quick easy fix. If you look on the Forum there's a section with Alarm Engineers details & you may be able to find 1 close to you, the concept is'nt a complex panel so most engineers on here should be happy dealing with it.

Dear all,

I might be hijacking this thread but not sure what the etiquette is, apologies if not correct. However, I have the same alarm system but am in the slightly more fortunate position of having a brief manual. The one thing that the manual does not explain is if I am carrying out some changes (need to mount the keypad on a different wall), how do I completely power-down the system.

My assumption is that I put the system into "programming mode", or even "engineer mode", and then simply turn off the mains (I have a switched spur for this so is easy and safe). Is the above correct? Also, what happens when I then turn the mains back on again?

Any help of guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks, David
