SUBS
Lovely bit of kit, can't see todays meters lasting that long. Believe it or not Arf ther'es 1 being sold on ebay at the moment for £25 Had one of them when I worked for Cambridge in the late 70s, still got the Avo 8 I had there as well ( theyre going for about 30 bob on ebay ) Wonder if you can still get the 22V batteries for em. Never semm tho throw anything out, I still got a Sinclair frequency counter - the one that looks like a calculator, and an Avo multiminor in a little wooden box, couple of Japane ones, and I think there a Taylor one somewhere as well. Theres a Cossor valve portable scope in me loft somewhare. Must dig it out see if it still works.

The 15v is still available from Farnell & RS etc but they're about £6.00 each. If it is 22v you'd have to make it up with a couple of batts in series. Customers Love us, Intruders Hate us. No your right, it was a 15V and a U2. think mines had 2 X PP3s in seires with a resistor chosen by trial and error till the zero pot was in the middle. Somebody used to sell a little DC-Dc converter pcb that would make it work with just the 1.5V one cos the 15V ones were scarce, and that was back in the 80s. arfur mo
I've got a TMK 500 swing needle meter , very popular with alarm service engineers, also 2 x TMK 500 mega's also highly favoured by alarm service engineers. 'got' my supervisor hoping about with both of them, i'd got to the panel, pull out the return and hook on, while he went to 'loop' the batteries out, hit the button soon as he touched the terminals made him jump a bit. Later with my tester I'n hand so i don't 'do' him again, and protect himself, he sends me to the batts he did not know I had 2 mega's do soon as he touched the return - POW!. What he did not call me, I was quit er shocked . Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

Still have my TMK 700 though & would'nt part with it, use a Digi for most stuff nowadays but allways keep an analogue in the car with me just in case though. Customers Love us, Intruders Hate us.
