smeglfc5 Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 can anyone please help reset my alarm. my wife turned off the alarm via the homes electric fuse panel. the alarm sounded. when i turned fuse back on after a few seconds alarm started beeping constantly. i entered code but never worked so i entered engineer code which turned beeping off. but now alarm will not set at all. unset light and power light are constantly on. i think the tamper feature is the reason. but i cannot reset alarm. it now wont set. please help
Monty Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Sounds like you need a new battery probably a 2.1ah in that panel if you have the engineer manual look at the default user code and try that if so the panel has dumped all progg and will need to be re progg .not a panel we use but cheep and cheerful in my book www.AllanMoncrieffAlarms.com
james.wilson Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Why did she switch it off in the first place. If it has a fault on the tamper circuit cycling the power wont help. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
arfur mo Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Why did she switch it off in the first place. If it has a fault on the tamper circuit cycling the power wont help. at a guess i'd say because alarm was sounding, chances initially this was due to a tamper, then wife effectively intouduces a power cut, which seems dropped its program and why on restoring the power the bleeps won't stop unless engineer code inserted. if you have the manuals follow the suggested 'power up' sequence, but please be aware mains voltage accesable from within the alarm main panel can be extremely lethal, if your not competant or not into electrics best you ask someone who is to help. Arfur. If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
norman Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 extremely lethal, is that the same as very dead? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
