AMI-cable-solutions Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 I am trying to utilize a 12vdc to dry contact relay from a smart PSU output but no matter what I still get a closed contact energised or de-energised. any ideas?
antinode Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Does the relay work if you put a straight neg and pos on it from the Aux supply? If so, how is it connected and how are you testing the output? Trade Member

Thamks for reply, I can get the led to go on and off with the test toggle on the keypad and the relay clicks but still get a closed circuit on my meter.
james.wilson Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 It sounds like the relay is shot then or wired wrong. Use a meter on the output and are if its changing as required. Also try 12 dc on the relay and are if It's working. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

I have the pos strait from the 12v and the neg from o/p 1 on the smart rio. then a pair in c & n/c
Guest Oxo Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Have you metered out the voltage from the Aux 12vdc and the output when triggered? Also the other side of your n-nc is that clean, could be a short on there.

Normally open stays open all the time too. there are 2 realays and both are the same either they are both shot or more likely wired wrong. dont really know where to go with it maybe I am missing something?
Guest Oxo Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 You have to check the voltage is changing when testing the output. What relays are they? As you say are they correctly wired?
