Guest Oxo Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 Think its the logo. As your example of Coca Cola, that is both a registered logo and trademark.
MrHappy Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 coke, mc d's are all protected by lawyers rather than mere trade marks, you simply bully those that infringe on your brand by taking them to a court they can't afford ! every region has a nova, guardian, home guard , sentry, advance, intruder, Hi Tech ect.... or similar spellings Mr Veritas God
digitalwitness Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 If it is anything like over here, you can register a company name similar to an existing name as long as there is some difference and its not identical(not the case with registering a business name, no real checks are done here). The registered company name is not business sector specific, security could be IT security for example. A trademark is different as the name suggests its registered for a specific trade, this can be text or logo or both depending on how it is registered but cannot be used by anyone else within the same industry without infringing the trade mark. AFAIK
