whistle Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 We use 2" 10" here for Panel & Bells i will also use them for call points etc. A Co i once worked for used 3 x 8mm Rawl bolts for bells and it was a warning if you got found out using anything else.

antinode Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 wow Have to admit I go a bit mad on fixings sometimes too. I don't want things coming down once they're up! Still makes me laugh when I see panels fixed to plasterboard with 1 1/2 8's and red plugs. Trade Member
james.wilson Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 panels i can agree, but detectors id use yellows and inch's. Assuming the wall is sound. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
whistle Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 LOL I put up 5 x Paxton P75 readers today with 2" 10"s...in brick. If i have my SDS out why not?
alterEGO Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 A Co i once worked for used 3 x 8mm Rawl bolts for bells and it was a warning if you got found out using anything else. tell me about it, i once swung off a low one with my hammer, and the bastid wouldn't shift. Their bells still look OK after all these years. panels i can agree, but detectors id use yellows and inch's. Assuming the wall is sound. even i use 1 1/2" with red plugs.
james.wilson Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 on detectors? I like the 'even i' though lol they say admitting it is the first step lol sorry mate i know that was uncalled for. Dont see an issue with either, agreed reds and 1.5" is better but dont see the benefit... assuming you use 2? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

All pointless IMO, any standard plastic plug and screw fixing can be pulled out of plasterboard wall.

norman Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 red plugs in plasterboard? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
