whistle Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 TBH 90% of our G2 installs are almost G3 anyway if signalling is fitted. We use standard kit (all of it G3) and connect mask on 95% of installs even at G2.

But one thing that annoys the hell out of me is you cant use a honeywell antimask sensor on a honeywell G2 panel! securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
whistle Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 Agreed James thats why if its a new install with responce 99.9% of time we fit G3 - 48 etc. The Aux power rating on a Galaxy G2 is very poor thats why we fit a G3.
alterEGO Posted November 22, 2010 Posted November 22, 2010 I can't understand why they even offer a G2 metal? ADT must like them.
james.wilson Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 i dont know why other than screening or battery support issues, anyone would prefer a metal panel. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

arfur mo Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 i dont know why other than screening or battery support issues, anyone would prefer a metal panel. If battery support of the panel is the issue for using metal, why not use a monitored aux PSU where needed? Keeps your stock of panels and spare PCB's minimal, and covers to all the standards then, but I wonder why do makes not offer a bigger plastic case? Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!

james.wilson Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 So its Grade 2 then? I can see using a panel might work as it could be upgraded with later firmware (probably) but the only benefit i can see of sensors etc is to standardise on parts? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
