Chaz06 Posted November 23, 2010 Posted November 23, 2010 Hi there Im Steve ive been involved in the security industry for over 12 years now, i initially started out on alarms and worked at them for 4-5 years but got bloody sick of them so i moved to a company where i could be asked to do anything from wire a light switch to splicing a fibre cable! Its great as it gives me great variety and dont get bored often! So ive came on to your forum to find out some info!! I've recently done some CCTV systems that i've linked the dvr to a network to allow for remote viewing, this proved straight forward. But i now have been asked to install 3 IP cameras at a farm, the customer doesn't require a DVR. So i know i have to get a broadband line to near the cameras and put on a modem and get a static IP. I know that the cameras come with software to set up the networking etc, but the thing that is confusing me is if i have 1 static IP address how do i transmit 3 different pictures through the broadband, do i need a switch or something?? I would be greatful for any help on this! Thanks Steve
