Guest Oxo Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 And they are introducing "flash" pay by swipe bank cards!!! Ok diff tech, but not so diff. Bring back finger print............oops got me there, cut off the didgit needed!
Cubit Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 Scare mongering, nothing more. All old hat now. Yes, technically it is feasible - but not without the right kit - and serious knowledge. Changes have been put in place to eliminate the problem. Funny how people pick up on things like this, even though it was ostensibly, an academic exercise, yet are happy to entrust their security to a 4 digit pin or just as bad, prox technology based on 26 bit weigand, strange how everyone seems happy with that.

Cubit Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 whats the issue with 26bot wiegand then? There's hundreds, if not thousands of duplicates in open issue.
Guest Oxo Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 God bless site codes or as mentioned b4 closed protocol.
MrHappy Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 on a UK campus the james bond nerd team is much more likely to get mugged for the lappy before they mange to clone any cards ? Mr Veritas God
Cubit Posted November 27, 2010 Posted November 27, 2010 God bless site codes or as mentioned b4 closed protocol. Site codes ain't always that much use. For example. 26 bit weigand only has 255 variants. Not a lot is it? especially considering how many cards HID have produced. C&D is actually safer, only one number produced, no risk of duplicates (under normal conditions).
