Guest helpappreciated Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 Hi Guys, I have a 9800+ which I installed in my house some time ago which seems to work just fine. I would really like to part set the system at night which will give protection against forced entry through doors and selected ground floor windows but not enable PIR's. Does any one know of a way of configuring the system so when setting the alarm before retiring I do not wake up the entire household? Can a silent set be achieved with this equipment? I have the install manual but I may well have missed something. Appreciate any comments you may have. Best regards "Help Appreciated"
Deltaseven Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 The only way I can think of is to have the system to "Instant set" on area B or C. This will mean that you enter your code, press B (or C), and the system sets with no exit delay. This is only appropriate if you can get from the keypad to bed without violating any zones which are active in the part setting. If this is not possible, you may need to have additional zones removed from the part set suite, which is not ideal, or have an additional keypad installed. Hope this helps, D7
Guest Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 there is def a silent set, can't quite remember which option,60's or 70's i think for groups b&c only
CompostCORNER Posted July 28, 2004 Posted July 28, 2004 The older 9800 didn't have an option for silent set If I remember correctly but the 9800+ does have it on Area's B and C. For AREA B, it's option 62 and AREA C, option 72. The 3 variables for both these options are as follows..... 0 (zero) Same as Full Set. 1 Instant Set. 2 Silent Set. So for AREA B to be silent, from Engineer mode, enter 62 and the current variable is shown. Enter 2 for Silent Set, then press 'Tick' or 'Clear' depending which type of remote you have. Leave Engineers and the job should be done. Tony
