james.wilson Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 What do you use and why? We use Axis, Pelco, IQeye. Tried panasonic, didnt rate it, and thought the bosch units poor in comparison to the axis for picture quality. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Alarm Protection Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 Only ever used Axis and had no probs. Mind you for the price there should'nt be any! !
Alpat Systems Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 What do you think of arecont? There up and coming.......I'd personally say there about 12 months behind Axis in terms of image quality / features. We've used 180 & 360 panoramic cameras and a few of the compact IP cams for a specific project due to there size. Pelco have really caught up with Axis over the last 18 months, they just need to sort there pricing out now to be more competitive. I'd say the Pelco IXE20, IX30 are amongst the best IP cams currently available.
james.wilson Posted December 6, 2010 Author Posted December 6, 2010 Ive only used pelco spectra IP, but was very impressed with a demo of their HD PTZ. What i like about axis is reliability, flexability and image quality. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
nznavor Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 im very new, are ip cameras cost effective in comparison to other solutions currently out their? Thanks
sixwheeledbeast Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Tried panasonic, didnt rate it, and thought the bosch units poor in comparison to the axis for picture quality. I liked the Bosch cameras, quality seemed good, although I have not compared them to other IP cameras. IMO There are only a limited number of sites will benefit a IP installation. Mainly office based, pre-cat5/6 cabled environments. I mostly prefer to avoid the hassle and pull coax/shotgun cables in for analogue cameras.
james.wilson Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 Agreed an due to interlace issues ip cams give better quality imo plus allow multi mega pixel securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
