Guest Oxo Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 had a call out to one this week, cut track. Is the 2k2 resistor another dream or does it work. Tried it on a m8ts last night. No.
arfur mo Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 hand on heart the track cut seems the best way to recommend anyone to do, especially if thats what Risco say, tbh only ever had an issue twice, the ressitor stopped it both times, did not use many N2's as moved over to Nova 6's. My NSI Gold mate did have problems, and said the 2.2k fix i had suggested worked fine for him. wonder if EWD cable legnth might be a factor on longish runs, guessing in the design stage they were only tested using a short cable on the bench. in practice, most sites will have a much longer run, so voltage drop even RFi could play a part, perhaps why some play up erratically whil others don't? Arfur One last update from me. Cut the track on 3 of my neighbours alarms tonight (3 hours in the freezing cold!) and we now have silence. Many thanks for everyones help. Fingers crossed I'll get a good nights sleep tonight..... sort "Si-i-ilent Night - Ho-o-ly Cow its Cold to-o-onight" just make sure they now actuyally sound when they should do - might get a tad embarresing otherwise . Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
miaren Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Just had a call to a customer to change their bellbox (sounds to be this issue). Risco sent a service replacement direct to the customer, and will arrange colection. Nice when the manufuacturer is helpful. Worryingly, the approved co. who installed it had disabled it, but have treated the customer so poorly they went elsewhere and are "Not going back!".
arfur mo Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Nice ti hear good comments, Your client may be able to claim the costs if you work against the registered company. Registered or not we all have to legally supply 'fit for purpose'. They should also complain the associated inspectorate, unless reasonable excuse given for leaving siren disabled like H&S grounds for instance). Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
MrHappy Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Worryingly, the approved co. who installed it had disabled it, but have treated the customer so poorly they went elsewhere and are "Not going back!". two sides to every story, Mr Veritas God
norman Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 exactly Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
miaren Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Update: I meant the customer is not going back to them. Yep, I agree two sides. Just an "Old Dear" wanting to get her alarm working again.
