sixwheeledbeast Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Line cuts are common, else there wouldn't be a need for dual path. Personally id recommend a redcare over a Dualcom product. Both similar cost. Are we talking a real Redcare/GSM or a Agile/Secure?? My dual path preference would be:- Redcare is better than Dualcom for GSM, Dualcom is better than Redcare for GPRS, IMO. --- Completely agree with PeterJames get three quotes and compare price/quality. It's important you have confidence in the company you choose. Cheaper may lead to more problems in the future.

Judging from some of the posts on here lately with issues about Dualcom it would appear that isn't the case 6wheel. My own preference of security is paramount would be redcare gsm. Then if say redcare secure in g2 or g3 mode. I'd rather use the secure due to it supporting extended formats. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

If it turns out to be the the case then i will be hanging them out to dry in a public post, with all the evidence of course. As James is aware i have been keeping it to myself so far, but i have a feeling that is about to change. However i don't know that BT secure is any better as i am yet to try one.
james.wilson Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Without knowing your issues its hard to say aaron. I've been meaning for sometime to do a side by side performance test. I'll do it in the new year and will also do an ip unit. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Side by side i would go for dualcom, but it seems i may have made a bad choice long term.
james.wilson Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 Have only had 1 issue with red secure and I think we made a mistake on the programming. Long term stability is what we all want, it's impossible to test really. The odd issue will always happen, but by the sounds of it this is more serious? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
alterEGO Posted December 27, 2010 Posted December 27, 2010 yeah, it looks that way. I have some things i need to run through with them before i say anymore.

Well at the moment my situation is I have fitted both and BT "Secure" is well lets just say the word "Agile" was more appropriate. Our calls increased dramatically since fitting them; with faulty units, line faults that take and age to come through then will not restore and GPRS low signals at silly a.m, I bet 70% are now on "GPRS log only". I wouldn't recommend using one. Not had a problem with a G3 Dualcom GPRS Standard or World SIM unit yet, technical are helpful, footprint plug-on option. Long term is hard to say but most new electronic's are short-sighted these days. There will be a new technology in X months/years. I will be interested to see some results from these tests? It does sound worrying to say the least. Obviously hands down Redcare GSM units are the best dual path unit, if only I had the option to fit them on every site. Thinking about it I wonder which is the most popular unit in Kingston upon Hull, I assume there's no Redcare exchange there?

I think we may be using worldsim as standard soon, as the on site survey with their meter seems to be pointless. A little hint to some of our issues, i found out GPRS fail had been put on log only on all our ARC's dualcom sites, and it wasn't us or the ARC that asked for this.

In our early days of using DualCom we had an issue where DUALCOM had not turned on the POLLING.Of course this wasnt picked up by ARC or Alarm co for some time. So basically a digi using GPRS Customers!
