peds Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Hi I wonder if someone can help me i recently moved into a new home with the galaxy 8 cp171 installed in the house as i walked round i notice the red lights on the sensors coming on so i looked round and found the alarm system in the house the trouble is the keypads four wires black, red, blue, yellow were disconnected from its port of a,b,+,- if these wires were connected would the system work as a stand alone alarm system or would it have to be reconnected to A.d.t and if so would this system be able to dial straight to my phone Regards Pete
james.wilson Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 yhe galaxy 8 cant directly comm direct to your phone but you could add a dialler etc. Yes if the system is ok then you could reconnect it, but it will probably need a reprogram so you will either need to wipe and reprogram or get adt or another alarm company in securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
norman Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 the keypad will have been disconnected more than likely due to bleeping after some for of activation. Do you have the code? Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.

peds Posted January 7, 2011 Author Posted January 7, 2011 Hi What dialer would be a good addition to this system and how much would it cost roughly to have the dialer fitted and system reprogrammed the keypad will have been disconnected more than likely due to bleeping after some for of activation. Do you have the code? Hi Norman sorry no code Regars peds
norman Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 then you will need to have the panel crashed and reprogrammed to suit your requirements. 0800 011 1111 Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
Guest Oxo Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 Expect to pay around £100 for a speech dialler from a company and 1-2 hours of time as they would have to sort the wiring maybe replace fuses ect. Do the testing replace the battery and associated paperwork. £250-£300 at a guess dependant on your location. Ring 3 local companies for a quote. Just remember this would be a older system brought back to life, which should last. Depends if you want it for insurance purposes or not.
james.wilson Posted January 7, 2011 Posted January 7, 2011 agreed the system was probably a proper signalling system on police response. This is preferable usually. As norman states might be cheaper to call adt. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
