thealarmingman Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Hi Guys Am an installer of wireless alarms, amongst other things and wondered if you might be able to help. Have surveyed a cottage for a system. Really thick stone walls and the place seems like a rabbit warren. Propose to offer a wireless system but have concerns about signal strength. Occupants often away and have a gardener who attends whilst away. Position of cottage leaves them vulnerable as rear backs on to fields. Have outbuildings needing protection. Normally would install "Visonic Complete" and would use the exterior Tower PIR's (been successful in other applications) but not sure if signal quality would be OK. How to check? Propose partition so gardener can work in rear, leaving house armed. Alternative could be Texecom Ricochet, anyone experience of this new kit? Look forward to suggestions.

AdrianMealing Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Ricochet kit will perform in that situation, the beauty is you can use contacts to extend the mesh if the base system will not perform, where are you based perhaps one of our guys could come to site and test a system with one of our demo kits. amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom
james.wilson Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 agreed any mesh based system will outperform 1 way or even 2 way wireless for range and availability. The bigger the system the better the signal with mesh wireless, ie richochet securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Based in Stockport, client in Buxton. you do a radio signal check before installing ? Use either a demo or a stock kit if feel there would be an issue
AdrianMealing Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 PM me your mobile number and i will ask the rep to give you a shout, maybe do a site survey with a demo kit and see how it performs. amealing@texe.com Head of Industry Affairs Visit Our Website Texecom
hpotter Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 could also look at scanny kit. Last year fitted on airfield, castle, garden centre. no probs at all, as always with their kit.
