PeterM Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Hi, New to the forum so hoping you can help. Bought a house recently with an Accord fitted, all working well and recession strapped so don't particularly want to change it! But with a new cat in the household I need to fit some pet friendly PIRs. My question is how do I understand what specification i.e voltage and frequency the control box is/needs to specify the sensors? Looked at the paperwork I have but see nothing apart from it needs Normally Closed units. Many thanks, Peter
satsuma01 Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 any standard pet sensor should work after being set up, the one thing youll need is the engineers code but this site cannot give the default code out to you, the voltage that panel works on is 12v dc, youll need the engineers code to be able to replace the pir, otherwise the tamper will keep activating, you may also need the engineers manual aswell it may make things easier to understand, as for any codes, or engineers manuals this site cannot give them to you sorry, but if you are not sure what to do with the system take a look at the companies listed under each police force area and im sure someone will be able to help install those detectors if you decide to go that route "If you carry your childhood with you, you never become old. Why rush to end life when happiness is in the blissfulness of childhood innocence.""We all die, the goal isn't to live forever, the goal is to create something that will." 07475071344
Guest Oxo Posted January 18, 2011 Posted January 18, 2011 Cats are a pain in the botty. Leap about everywhere. Even a good "Pet Detector" can struggle. Aim them away fron stairs and "Cat comfy places" then you`ll have less of a chance of a false alarm. To be honest you need a "pro" or be very dilligent in the set up of the detector. Go for a Quad or a DT, with a cat a DT is better.
cmss Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 detectors are 12vs yes they are closed circuits adi gardeners do agood range of pet smart detectors. beware if your system is not setup for customer reset you will cause a tamper fault ? you will need a engineer reset code to stop pet false alarms programe detectors for double knock
Guest Oxo Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Pardon? Double knock wont stop that.. An animal isnt going to walk thru 2 detection zones then stop.
Guest Oxo Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Chuck the fekker out if its a cat. Eats next door anyway, kin hate cats. Now a soppy basket of a dog dirrerent story!
cmss Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Pardon? Double knock wont stop that.. An animal isnt going to walk thru 2 detection zones then stop. if the animal is restricted to one area theres not much chance the system will go into alarm?
james.wilson Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 i cant agree with double knock. Its massivly non compliant, potentially very weak, and only hides the fault does not not cure it. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
