james.wilson Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I'd say if you havnt overloaded it your very close. Keypad, 20 sabs and 2nd expanders plus all the detectors id say is too much, unless it's a 2.5A panel? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
9651 Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 It will show tamps until you change programming to fsl, option 21 iirc Do they have an auxiliary fuse these days, most have poly fuses that reset once the fault has cleared.(been ages since i've fitted a 9751) Also is it a 9751 EN or UK? Think the UK has fuses still, EN not. How experienced are you with installing alarms btw? 9751 is only around 1.5a i'd say off memory. As said disconnect the AUX + to the detectors, see if the fault clears. Just leave in the data bus for the expanders and rkp. Also make sure exp have the links set to the right wiring confguration.
arfur mo Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Walking before running is my advice Duscinnect everything except keypad from mother board, refit or make simple links for all tampers, fit 2.2k restyle in each zone. default the panel, idea is to get that bit working 1st to reduce the fault possibilities, program zones for eol see if you can exit to user mode, then add your zones onboard 1st, one at a time and test. Wire in your expanders again link anti tampers and fit 2.2 k resistors to zone terminals. Program it in and test as above. Then add one siren at a time and test as above I alway go battery 1st, neg on hard quck dab initially with positive, large splash means problem likely but don't burn it out as will with mains on 1st - before you smell the smoke . Arfur If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!!
arfur mo Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 Panels overloaded. End off. Unless faulty the panel and keypad on their own won't overload the supply, you/I would meter out cables before connectin,g having been trained properly. as a newb especially, very unwise to wack on everything and hope you get it right 1st time. Advice ui start with the very minimum working from a known base, then add a bit at a time, when system falls over it helps identiy what's causing it Guys not on wages, so can spend his time doing it properly with our guidance. Guest Oxo Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I`m sorry, thought you said 9651. As with the expanders drop all off and see what happens. Then rebuild the system. Its basically check and test, check and test. Again sorry for the confusion.
Guest benny Posted January 19, 2011 Posted January 19, 2011 I'd say you have a short on the power lines or sabs. How have you seriesed them, as it's commonly wrong? Hi James, Ive wired the sounders in parallel, only the tamper is wired in series. The tamper feed on bell 1 is linked to 0v, and the tamper return goes to tamper feed on bell 2. The tamper return from bell 2 returns to the TR terminal on the panel. However I have not connected the bell & Strobe wires of bell 2 to the panel, only tamper return, 0v & 12v. regards

Hi 9651, Its got a Polyfuse T250mA, and its the EN version. I done what you've said, disconnected the 12V + Aux, also bell/strobe etc. I'LL also go with what oxo & Arfur suggested, just have keypads connected first, then build up system & eventually diagnose the problem. I'm not a pro like you guys on the forum, but I've in the past fitted a few 9800plus with no problems. I'LL give it a try & let you know how I get on. Thanks again
