Two Control Pad Problem

We are wondering if you can help us

We have the ADE optima compact with two control panels.

Exit 1. Is working perfectly,

Exit 2. When we set the alarm to leave it runs in a continual fast beep and does not set the alarm.

Our codes are correct and starting the exit procedure but just a really fast beep that continues and does not stop (at least five minutes and would have continued) and the alarm does not set.

We do not have a manual but have found one on these forums but with no troubleshooting advice

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

Chris

When you say "two control panels" do you mean you have an Optima compact with the onboard keypad and another extra stand alone keypad?

If so is it by any chance the stand alone keypad which is the problem?

I installed a couple of these with simple set readers and on one the simple set reader stopped responding. After a full power down and restart all was fine.

I think they are two systems same control panels, not linked,

Identical boxes.

Exit 1 - Works fine and sets the alarm for the south of the building.

Exit 2. - Is the problem one

Sorry I should have stated this, my apologies not from the industry

Been digging around the forums and found this

That thread could be the final door contact is faulty and it is programmed for final door set but with no timer.

Shows the weakness of such an option being used, as the alarm will never set so not protect anything. but also might just be your problem.

Try a walk test to see what indicates - or don't.

As Arf-reckon contact on final exit is stuck closed-again as Arf, walk test to check operation.

Sounds like the entry route for exit two is not progged correctly in other words there is a detector near exit two thats programed as immediate rather than entry/exit route

I cant believe none of you other plums could work that one out it was obvious

Or, more chance of a faulty device showing open or blown fuse if this is an existing old system that has been in use for a while with no issue.
