id agree mate. I do like them and IMHO its brand snobbery that dismisses them. However im sure if they were graded they wouldnt have the same opinion.

Cant use them for this reason but dont think there is anything better for the money. back in the day we fitted plenty of optimas and still have loads on contract. Yes i prefer other panels like i prefer the wifes q7 to my own a4... for most things

when i say grey it something you could argue is down to interpretation. ie is it new or existing.

assuming the existing is a 4737 cert then you can add to it. Id assume these were wired back to main panel? if so then you could argue they are an extension of the existing system amd those rules would apply. However if standalone i dont think you could argue they were an extension and or in addition to the existing system.

depends basically

New site, these were stand alone systems. There is however 24 hr security on site. Think one of those big self storage type places

Christ them Veritas are nasty, can imagine a customers face after sticking one of them in their hall

just wonder, well know that we must lose the lower end of the market as we only price for G2 equipment.

loads love em, coz its a cheap system

id fit a g1, if its low risk dont see why not. Why wouldnt you fit ti g1. I havnt yet but would if the ra was low.

isnt there very little difference between g1 and g2, does not take much extra to install to g2, the reason why pro firms install to g2 as a min.

To OP, i fit g2 as a min, wouldnt bother with anything ungrade as any decent kit is graded anyway.

I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.

I see loads of temp alarms that are not graded. As for Secom, only ones daft enough to use PCX or what ever its called.

believe Banhams where pryorix ?

yeah but if the RA is low and G1 there is no reason to fit G2. Bit like ra'ing as G2 and fitting G3. Good idea but dearer

More kit to stock. Possibility of having 'wrong bits' on van etc. Probably works out more expensive.
