lill106 Posted February 15, 2011 Share Posted February 15, 2011 hi im a newbie on this site and was looking for some advise,iv just installed a scantronic 9651 alarm system, iv wired it as a closed circuit zones(no resistors) the system has only got 3 pirs installed and 5 door contacts. the trouble im haveing is when i come out of installer mode it checks the system and gives me x8 zone faults any help would be greatly appreciated thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

arfur mo Posted February 15, 2011 Share Posted February 15, 2011 as above youhave to program the zone wiring type (different to zone attribute types). if you are new to alarm installing, you better to test each cable with a test meter for shorts and breaks before you connect it to your panel, banging it all in usually leads to tears.. always remmember, the fastest fuse in the world is the base junction of a transistor, of which there are thousands inside even a small modern IC. get your panel with just the keypad connected working properly before you add any zones and warning devices, then add one item at a time and tets. this method is faster than connecting everything and hoping. it also reduces frustration from the "not knowing where to start" feeling, all this makes installing it far more enjoyable .
