gazzaabc Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 hi, i was wondering if anyone could help. I have recently installed an alarm and everything was fine with it till now . It is a brand new system which works fine but the lcd keypad is blacked out?? however it still works, the alarm sets and goes off etc but the keypad is blacked out with black boxes. i think its a honeywell ade accenta pannel but not sure till i get the manual. i will later post the exact model. the keypad seems to work as normal with the mains power off? soon as its turned back on the keypad blacks out again but still works. I have recently changed the bellbox due to it been pinched lol>?< im not sure if this has anything to do with it. any help would be greatful, thanks
james.wilson Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 did this start as soon as you chnaged the bell or when it was removed? securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
gazzaabc Posted February 21, 2011 Author Posted February 21, 2011 it started when i changed the bell. ive just had a phone call saying the mains is tripping out now but i havnt checked that out yet. im an electrician but havnt fitted many alarms if im honest so its not one of my strong points.
james.wilson Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 if it started after the bell change then i think you have done something. Id disconnect the bell cos if you have wired it wrong you could pop something. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
gazzaabc Posted February 21, 2011 Author Posted February 21, 2011 ill double check its wired correct. hope it hasnt nackered the pannel or lcd keypad. can the bell been wired wrong cause faults with the keypad?
james.wilson Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 the only thing i can think off is a voltage on the tamper return. Or overload of the psu. But my initial thought is no, but seen as it happened with the bell removal or replacement id say it has to be related securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Hi, Have you tried disconnecting the bell to see if the display comes back on? If there still is a problem with the bell dissed I think you may have a problem with the panel/keypad!!
