Guest LeeJ Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Hi. Apologies if this is in the wrong section or if query has been heard a million times before, but I'm after some sound advice for something I know little to nothing about, so hopeful someone can help. Usual story - we moved into a house in 2005 and inherited a C&K Securitech ST800L+ system which has been working fine since. A few months ago it started playing up, with the internal pad being none-responsive and the internal siren sounding. I disconnected the internal siren, and we haven't used it since (i.e. less than ideal situation). I suspect that all that is needed is a new internal battery somewhere, and a good service. The reason for the post is 2-fold. Firstly, I'd like some advice on who to get to service the alarm in the hope that the problem will be fixed, and I'll have piece of mind that it has been serviced correctly, but secondly, I'd like some advice on how to extend the system to our external detached garage, and potentially including some more sensors in the system. The answer may be that I need to scrap the system and start again, but knowing nothing about it I haven't a clue if it is a good system or not, and how extendable it is (i.e. connecting wireless motion detectors etc etc)? Any advice would be well received. We are in the Ashby-De-La-Zounch area of North West Leicestershire, in the Midlands. Thanks
Monty Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 CK 800 L quite a basic panel with 8 zones max so you would prob need to replace panel and probably best to put in a hi-bred panel like an Ion 40 witch would let you add wireless equipment to your garage as long as its not to far from the house and deal with all existing zones that you have at the moment. www.AllanMoncrieffAlarms.com
