andyh747 Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 I have a Scantronic iON40 system. I also have a treatment plant on the property which has a volt free relay for providing indication of a fault. I would like to wire this relay into the alarm system so that if a fault is detected the alarm system can send me a signal or produce an alarm. Anyone any knowledge of how you would wire this? The relay has both N/O and N/C contacts available and my first thought was to simply wire this into one of the free wired zones. However I'm not sure this would work. Many Thanks.
sixwheeledbeast Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Pretty much as you say. On the fault output relay wire NC and C to a hardwired zone. Program the zone on the panel as 24hr and set up for double pole wiring.
andyh747 Posted March 18, 2011 Author Posted March 18, 2011 Thanks for the reply. That all makes sense. Could you just expand on what you mean by setup for double pole wiring? Many thanks.

Types of wiring configuration.... Double pole means two pairs of wires one for the alarm and one for the tamper. In your case the tamper can be linked out. Compared to FSL (Fully Supervised Loop) which means resistors on one pair of wires.
