paulbaker1954 Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 I just wanted to confirm that a fire sensor does not need to be assigned to any area on a Gardetc Panel. Currenly I have the zone attributes set to Fire No assigned area Remove - I assume a fire zone is alway active (even in Engineer mode) and thus area assigns have no affect. Also does anyone know if a part set applies to a fire zone if the zone is assigned as a Part Set. ie if assigned to Part Set 2 and alarm is set at Part Set 1 is the fire sensor still active (logic tells me yes but just wanted to be sure)
Monty Posted March 24, 2011 Posted March 24, 2011 Not sure about the gardtec panels but in some of the more sophisticated panels you can put in to areas/settings and progg diff response from the signal (eg only use Com's when system set ) www.AllanMoncrieffAlarms.com
paulbaker1954 Posted March 24, 2011 Author Posted March 24, 2011 So sounds like the safest bet is to assign it to all the areas assigned on the system anyway (cant do any harm!!) Not sure what happens on a Part Set though Maybe should also have pointed out that the system is not set up to an ARC its just used for internal sounder and bell. ie there is no ARC contract in place. I am aware that using Digicom you can program specific outputs but not the case with this one
9651 Posted March 27, 2011 Posted March 27, 2011 Fire zones should always work weather the system is set or not. However some wont work whilst in engineer. Not a panel we fit but longs its assigned as fire it should work. If in doubt, try it
paulbaker1954 Posted March 28, 2011 Author Posted March 28, 2011 9651 that sounds logical to me I havent tested it but my guess it will also ve active in engineer mode. It not you could just use a 24Hr attribute Anyway what the hell I've added it to all the areas anyway - belt and braces and all that
