Cubit Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 NACOSS gold cat5 eh? That will be much better than just normal cat5 because its NACOSS. Don't. I can just see the site inspections now. Network managers throwing them out of the building.
Scotmod Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 And that's why they're both looking to diversify away from security into such things as networks. Well, it does involve wires so they must know what they are about surely?? Like they think that industry will give them the time of day. Indeed, and while it's sad that some may lose a job out of it I hope they fail horribly and are forced to change. Or explode. Or just cease to exist. They will never get in the I.T. Never. They will be laughed to oblivion and back and demolished by actual engineers who will laugh them out of the room. "What? You're telling me there's a better way to carry out a Cat install? What do you do? Tie a little bow tie around the patch lead?"
matthew.brough Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Don't forget to note which corner the cable comes in www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Scotmod Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 All jokes aside. I.T moves at such a blistering pace it is fascinating. If NSI struggle to move with security how the hell do they think they will cope with that sector? Never happen. Even if it did the people that spend the I.T budget would ignore it.
Alarm Protection Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 There is so much more installers can offer but we have to follow rules that keep us back tbh. I am following the home automation installs big time now as that is the way forward. Still have to issue certificates for domestics and commercials so go on with that but an all in one home automation to control from their phone is the way forward. !
matthew.brough Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Why issue a certificate for an automation system? ADT set the precedence its out of scope, therefore not required, www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Scotmod Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Unless it's monitored why bother issuing a certificate? I don't see the reasoning behind it? Edit after Matt. I mean for any security install? Why bother?
matthew.brough Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 Unless it's monitored why bother issuing a certificate? I don't see the reasoning behind it? Edit after Matt. I mean for any security install? Why bother? Because ze rulez say so. Someone has to pay for the nice offices and company cars of the inspectorates. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
Scotmod Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I wouldn't. Then again I don't pay attention to them.
matthew.brough Posted April 21, 2013 Posted April 21, 2013 I wouldn't. Then again I don't pay attention to them. I wish ATS had a x10 add on, it would save me a killing in certificates. www.securitywarehouse.co.uk/catalog/
