mudcow Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 hello all we recently bought a house with a Veritas (i dont know which model it is but its fairly old judging by the fading on the panal) alarm installed been reading through the user guide an it mentions that you enter the "pin" to set the alarm, on our alarm you can just press "set" an it will arm is that ok?? also i have tried to reset the pin (the code you put in to deactivate the alarm) by: enter existing code Prog 60 enter new code Prog Reset but the pin doesnt seem to change i "think" it may have something to do with when i changed the backup battery a month or so ago. could this have caused a reset or soemthing? anyone help? thanks!
norman Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 try the default code from the manual Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool.
sixwheeledbeast Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Yes this is okay as panel is setup for quick set. FULL and PART will operate without the code. As for the code change this is the correct way to change the code on a post-2000 Veritas. Pre-2000 is Code > 00 > 01 > New Code > PROG > RESET I doubt you have a pre-2000 panel if you can quick arm, so this may not work. Things to check... Is the Power light on solid? When you enter the code does the Power light flash? STOP HERE IF IT DOESN'T FLASH! If you then press FULL does the system start to arm? If you then enter your code does the system disarm?
