Wazzo Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 Hi everyone, This is my 1st post on the site , although I have read some great info in the forums that has allowd me to reprogram zones etc for my Abacus alarm system that is installed in the house I just moved into, especially as it came with no instructions. I've now got a battery warning on the LED panel so have bought a replacement but really need some advice on how to remove the outer casing of the panel without cracking the plastic. (My wife is already looking for an exuse to redecorate ) Thanks!

Are you sure its a 72? they were metal cased not plastic, and 72 is usually commercial panel or very big houses, if you have a house big enough to warrant one then you can afford to get an engineer in to do it for you. Also they don't have leds the display is LCD ?

I read the wrong section on the panel. Definately plastic, Just

Not really the same is it as your about to find out I probably wouldn't try to fix it myself if I couldn't even work out how to open the bonnet that would be really stupid! 6p the screws are underneath The 6p should have a Red LED letter style display usually onboard, beside the part set keypad you described originally, Battery fault will say BF or tB if I remember rightly

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.
Wazzo Posted June 8, 2011 Author Posted June 8, 2011 Not seen the two screws underneath at the bottom then? There aren't any screws at the bottom. The only one I've seen is on the inside of front panel next to the LCD. In regards to the Ferarri quote, I think the message is that some people, even if well off get some sort of satisfaction out of solving a problem themselves, rather than a 3rd party...and, unless you own a Renault.....it's pretty easy to change a lightbulb on a car. Thanks in advance for my uber n00bish questions...

You're looking at a Remote Keypad aren't you not the panel itself. There is no battery in there, find the main panel.
