fleckers Posted June 30, 2011 Posted June 30, 2011 Hi everyone, I'm trying to choose between different wireless alarm systems. I quite like the look of the DSC Alexor, as specified here: http://www.quicksafe.co.uk/dsc-alexor-alarm-system.htm However, I can't find all that much information about them in terms of reviews and other people's experiences etc. I like the keypad being separated from the main control panel, and the vanishing door contacts as I have 2 sets of PVC doors at the rear of my house. Ideally I would like a GSM rather than landline solution for sending out alerts, but could live with the landline option. People generally seem to like the Powermax Plus systems, which also look good. I've also noticed the Powermax Complete, Powermax Express and Powermax Pro versions, and am not quite sure how to choose between them? If I could choose, I'd prefer a system which communicates via text/GSM, with a fully wireless external siren, and a keypad which is separated from the main control box (so I can hide the control box away somehwere). Any help with the decision would be welcomed (or recommendations for other systems which I've not considered). With thanks fleckers

If this is definately not an option go for a decent 2 WAY wireless system or hybrid wired/wireless. Visonic is ok, we used to install them but for reasons that I can't post in public we moved away and we are now using the Pyronix/Castle Caretech Enforcer. You can hard wire an external keypad to it if you wish, the rest of the system including bell will be wirefree (you can wire a power supply to the bell to save on batteries if desired). Fantastic and professional piece of kit. I don't think you'll get much help regarding DSC on here, it seems popular in the USA but I can't see many using it here.
