securealarmsolutions Posted August 4, 2011 Posted August 4, 2011 Hi all, I have been approached by a customer to install a cctv system including a number plate recognition camera on the main driveway. I have not installed ANPR cameras before and need some advice. Can i just use an ANPR camera dirctly onto the DVR without using specific ANPR software? I may add the software at a later date. Also do you know of any good cameras to use, i have been looking at derwent/bosch and pecan currently. - Steve

james.wilson Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 ANPR is a subject in itself. If your after a cheap way of kinda doing it then just use a reg cam (bosch now i think) and record it on the dvr. However any camera that is designed for reg's will not give much of an overview (if any) so you will need a normal camera for overview use securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
