Alpat Systems Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 Samsung do the SNO-5080R, only 1.3M though Sony http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/product/nvmfixedcameras Arecont Vision do a bullet style 3 & 5M
james.wilson Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 5 MP sounds good. Only used the inq ones. Whilst good you do pay for it. Id rather go above 1.3 if i can. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
digitalwitness Posted August 24, 2011 Posted August 24, 2011 I would have thought that this would be a mismatch of technology really. Usually a 5M Pixel camera would be used to have a wide view but built-in IR generally would have a narrow view plus the lower sensitivity to light of the megapixel sensors would reduce the range compared to a similar number of IR emitters on an analog camera afaik. Example would be those Arecont bullets have a 25 Meter IR range for the 5M pixel bullet with a 45 Degree IR spread. 48 IR emitters on an anolog camera would be usually rated around 40 Meters. What is the intended use?
james.wilson Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 Im thinking of using them by default. not really a 5mp but a 2mp. But depending on cost. If i can find one after testing that is stable but less cost than an axis 223m. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Totally agree. In almost all of our IP installs we specify raytec lighting. We've even used them internally as there's no decent internal (dome) all-in-one solution available We're currently testing an Axis lightfinder technology cam (its pretty good) http://www.axis.com/products/cam_q1602/video/
james.wilson Posted August 24, 2011 Author Posted August 24, 2011 im thinking low end. I dont like the idea of combining the emitter with the camera either but for lower end stuff it works reasonably well, well better than no emitter at all lol. securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Try one of the samsung SNO, there actually quite good for a 1.3M
