Veritas Code Hell!

Hi there.

I need help . Tried to do a simple thing like change the user access code last night.

Panel made all the right noises, but when set to test then didn't recognise code and alarm proceeded to sound.

I then had to disconnect mains and battery to stop this.

I then followed installation manual settings to reset it - which I managed and back to programming mode.

It will only let me use 60 and then again it accepts the new code (lights 1 to 4 light up) and makes the noise.

Set to test , entered new code again and again it won't unset and eventually alarm goes off.

Have tried final part of this numerous times with different new codes to no avail.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

You probably have quick arm turned on. It will set if Full is pressed even with the wrong code, as the code is wrong it will NOT unset.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

I dont know veritas panels, but some panels dislike codes starting with certain digits, for example scantronics wont do user codes starting with 0.

Try a different code

Not the case with a Veritas.

Make sure if you have user and engineers codes you are not mixing them up.

It is function 60 in there own menu's to change them.

The engineers code will not unset the system.

How old is the panel, is it a Veritas 8?

If it is there are two (different) ways to change your code depending on age.

Someone told me I was ignorant and apathetic, I don't know what that means, nor do I care.

Agreed, I've even done it myself before.

The engineer code is the one with the digits running upwards and the user code is the one with the digits running downwards.
