Guest RICHL
Odd that you would choose optima over eurosec.
Guest pkh911
I totally agree with the other guys, however if you are looking for a good value panel bells only, try the Ademco Accord. The pyronix Sterling 10 is OK but be warned they do have a tendency to lock in electrical storms. mickfrombosch
Or a 9651? Cheaper or similar price than all the above, with more features, lcd keypad and metal end station as standard, DD243 upgradable and same software platform as all the bigger scanny panels. Just a thought! Mick Gates Regional Sales Manager- Intrusion Products Bosch Security www.boschsecurity.co.uk

Guest
Yeah install a scantronic if you want to go backwards in technology terms! Texecom rocks, one of the few the manufacturers actually developing their panels, not just constantly rebadging them. Oh and no i dont work for Texecom! 21144[/snapback] id go with scanny, good solid panels..
bellman
Had far more Texecom panels break down on me than Scantronic ones. Scantronic have been around a long time and I agree eith Eng here, they are good robust panels. Granted they miss a few of the "bells ans whisles" that the newer entrants into the market have, but 99% of customers just want to be able to switch it on and off. bellman
"Tried and tested" works well for selling to customers, as does the golden words "Reliable" and "Dependable". Do you need entry/exit timings down to a second? The sterling 10 has per second entry/exit timers but as others have also commented, i'd not prop a door open with it.... Service Engineer
Hmmmmmmm Scantronic & Texecom. Service Engineer
RR have a higher fault rate I doubt it, but that wasn`t the point of my post, I was trying to get accross the difference between Outstanding quality & Good Quality.I`m not knocking Texecom they make some good stuff now, but I class Scantronic as being in a slightly different league. ........................................................
