james.wilson Posted February 2, 2012 Posted February 2, 2012 Had another request for LPS 1277 signalling today from the insurer rather than the broker. Anyone else seeing this yet? nexlar Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 As insurers highlight the importance of the new LPS 1277 v.3 standard for alarm-over-IP signalling systems, Chiron has confirmed that its entire IRIS Touch range has already been awarded accreditation. Quote

Joe Harris Posted November 29, 2012 Posted November 29, 2012 Thanks for the info Nexlar, though at the same time CSL & NSI among others are busy canvassing insurers to 'advise caution regarding the use of LPS1277'. This is public not trade so I will not go into detail on the subjet Quote
james.wilson Posted November 29, 2012 Author Posted November 29, 2012 Joe can you create one in trade on the subject. I have spoken at length to Tony weeks and that is not how I understand nsi position Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
PeterJames Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Just had this today from an insurer Quote In respect of the webway signalling can you confirm the date of the installation and if it complies with LPS1277. As I understood it LPS1277 is a third party certification scheme not yet compulsory in the UK. We changed a failed RedCare for a WW1 with the same grade, and the insurer is being a pain now. I wouldn't mind, but its a sticky label printer not exactly high end value from robbery point of view the risk is low. Quote
james.wilson Posted April 18, 2016 Author Posted April 18, 2016 its not compulsory, doubt it will be but insurers shouldn't request band names etc, ie they shouldn't request a redcare. So they created lps1277 so they don't have to test all the devices that are out there. But the webway meets lps Quote securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
PeterJames Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 only version 2 apparently and version 3 is out now Quote Hi Craig Yes WW1 complies with LPS1277. However, as I understand it LPS1277 is a third party certification scheme not compulsory in the UK, as such BSIA do not recognise LPS1277. The main elements of LPS1277 are included in EN50136 and this is the standard that insurers specify not LPS1277. I will make arrangements with Andreas for an engineer to attend site and draw up a as fitted specification. Kind regards Peter My reply Quote
