Avotronics Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Hi, Tried to find this info but google is not my friend Does the Excel have outputs that can be attached to a relay for example? If so, where on earth is the spec sheet to tell me what ratings to adhere to.... Furthermore, if it does and can, can they be programmed to activate the relay on set and unset? Thanks Danny
Rulland Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 There is one normal output (sw1),this may be usable as set/unset reading the gumf, but there is no dedicated prog for it as set/unset,I would have to try and see!. There are also communicator outputs, one of which is set/unset-my best bet would be try that-it is configurable as pos or neg by the looks. Either way a relay would be required depending on what you are trying to achieve. Can't be much more help than that without actually hooking one up and trying-but that's much the same with all panels tbh until you've done it once and fathomed it out.
james.wilson Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 comms outputs are usually logic or low current only. You may need a t-relay securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.

Yes, best to use a relay. "Spec sheet" = Installation Manual. Veritas Excel has one programmable output. This can only be programmed as the following SET POSITIVE LATCHING SENSOR RESET LATCHING AUTO RESET TAMPER MAINS FAIL SET POSITIVE WITH RESET WALK TEST ENTRY/EXIT This is protected by a 1A Fuse. Only Positive Applied. It also has 8 comms outputs fixed to do the following in order of pin 1-8. FIRE PA UNCONFIRMED SET ABORT ZONE LOCKOUT DURESS CONFIRMED They can be inverted but only all pins together not separately. Each output can sink or drive 100ma max. They can be set to Latched or not. (Latched = active until disarmed and Reset is pressed) You will be able to trigger a relay with Pin 4 to change state on Set/Unset.

I haven't got the excel yet and was trying to decide on the right panel for the job while not going overboard. I'm still debating the excel, prem 24/48. Excel sounds like it'll do what I need, just a set/unset output. Thanks
Avotronics Posted February 18, 2012 Author Posted February 18, 2012 Does exit mode begin as soon as the panel is set/armed or when the panel is set/armed and the entry/exit zone is activated? Ta Danny
james.wilson Posted February 18, 2012 Posted February 18, 2012 exit mode starts as soon as you start arming, regardless of the state of the inputs securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Avotronics Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 Okay thx for your help, one last thing... you seem to know these panels, so; Does the panel pulse the comms/SW outputs or is it a continuous current that gets sunk on state change? I'm assuming it pulses from what I read, but I haven't wired up yet otherwise I would have checked myself. By t-relay do you mean latching relay? Danny
fozzies Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 Im guessing t relay - tranasistorised relay
