Paul-Parker Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Hi all, I have just purchased a house that seems to have a pretty good alarm system, theres movement detectors all through the bottom floor and on the landing, a panic button at the bottom of the stairs and some white things on the doors (don't know what they're called) but there's one problem - it's not working! I called up a local firm today who were very friendly but I described what I had and they said they didn't recognise it - I can't find any manuals and don't have a camera I can upload with at the minute, with the move and everything still being in boxes. The key pad has numbers 0-9, "Yes", "No", "Part" and "Escape". There's a flap that opens and says "For further information consult operation manual" (Which I obviously don't have). The bell outside says ASL. Can anyone help identify it?
james.wilson Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 a picture of the keypad would help. do you have a camera on your phone if so use that and upload here using the 'more reply options' button securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount.
Paul-Parker Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Unfortunately not, I might just leave it a few days until I've got everything unpacked
antinode Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 I'll go with Abacus, although it's not possible to tell which model exactly from your description (I'd hazard a guess at the 6/14 with it being a domestic). Does the keypad have an LCD screen? They're decent panels, so all it should require is a service and re-program. Do you live in the North West by any chance? Trade Member
PeterJames Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Its an Abacus, Look on the bellbox for the installers details
Paul-Parker Posted February 16, 2012 Author Posted February 16, 2012 Yeah, The Wirral - how'd you guess?, but it's not an Abacus 6-14.... I had one of those in a flat I rented out a few years back. Yes the keypad has an LCD - a green one. Oh right, I get you... the companies called Abacus Securities Limited... Thanks vey much I'll call them tomorrow )
PeterJames Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 It could be an Ab 8 or 15 or 12 they had oblong keypads the 614 had a soap dish shape
whistle Posted February 16, 2012 Posted February 16, 2012 Good panel an abacus i still have one fitted here in my house.. You should get it looked after to save you having the TRBL power fault at 3Am.... LOL
