bm_99 Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 hey all got the above panel and need to program it so that the call engineer show goes away but after talking to Ctec I need some leads for this Main question is the leads on the ends are rs232 would a normal rs232 to USB converter or converter leads from mapping be fine to connect it to the laptop??
sixwheeledbeast Posted March 13, 2012 Posted March 13, 2012 I use a serial to USB convertor with the supplied serial lead for my laptop. The supplied lead is a D-Connector 9 pin to 4 pin Molex. Pinout is:- D9>>>>>>>>>>>>>Molex Pin 2 >>>Yellow>>>>Pin 1 Pin 3 >>> Red>>>>>>Pin 2 Pin 5 >>> Blue>>>>>Pin 3 Ctec Part number XFP507 This is software CD and Lead.

sixwheeledbeast Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Yep. May have to work out the COM port but it will work fine.
Scotmod Posted March 16, 2012 Posted March 16, 2012 Depends what one you use. Sometimes the £3 one off ebay works, sometimes the £40 one doesn't. Depends on the panel. C-tec are the hussies of the panel world, they'll take anything.
