wl1
Short version what is the maximum physical size of battery to fit into a Optima XM Control Panel? Long version:- My relative called, bemoaning his Alarm "which goes off when the power does". I explained a few things, so I talked myself into the job. I intend changing his battery, amongst other checks, but he lives a couple of hundred miles away, so it will be timed with a visit to parents. Time is tight, and won't be able to buy local - so what size battery will fit in these old units. It currently has a 1.2AH, but I was hoping for 2.8, though these can be too fat on some panels. Anyone recall? Thanks, Wayne.
james.wilson
The xm if I recall will accommodate a 7 A/h for physical space but will struggle to charge it from flat. So a 2.8 is best. The compacts will only take a 2.1 securitywarehouse Security Supplies from Security Warehouse Trade Members please contact us for your TSI vetted trade discount. wl1
Thanks James, i dont like to be too weedy with the batteries. I try and fit 17Ah on Prem 48, unless totally unjustified.
RichL
Wiring brought in where the batt goes may prevent you from fitting a 7Ah batt in there, these "quick" jobs can soon turn into a nightmare if you dont have a selection of parts with you.
