Changing Access Control System To Pac

Im changing a access control system to PAC... Its pretty straight forward apart from two parts......

1st scneario - I have a front panel kind of like the one pictured, not exactly but not far of.... it has a old reader intergrated into the door entry panel to alow access to the front door.... Do I just change the reader internally?? I havent had a look inside but I know it is accessable... I did have a thought of changing the reader to a weigand reader which would then work??

2nd scneario - There is a reader in the lift already.... You present your card for the lift floor numbers to work.... is this just a case of changing the reader & finding the controller or would I need to access the lift controls somehow??

thanks in advance

Yes and yes in most cases but obviosly the software would need to have lift control set up and tested before you change the reader

As Pete says

Yes and yes

However, re the lift. It may be the relay parallels across the call button or Button feed

Or worse case, an interface relay board has been used so only the buttons you have the relevant rights for will light

Just hope it's the first option.

Do pac do lift control? proper lift control, i mean, not a relay interrupting the call button

I try and avoid PAC like the plaque but iirc they at least used to.

I have reason to beleave Stanley are looking at hex....

I was told this a while back when they took the sonitrol stuff.

I have noticed a few of their boxes going up on SMEs which I didn't expect.
