J_G Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Say you have a line of PTZs... And I do not terminate the rs485 with the termination switch, will the telemetry not work? As this is all i can think of what I haven't done on site... Telemetry isn't working... Cameras addressed correctly etc
breff Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Doubtful but possible especially if long runs The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct! (Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)
miaren Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 The majority of RS 485 does require a balanced line / resistors at each end. Some manufacturers deal with it themselves through their kit and some require installer to fit. What kit are you using?.
J_G Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 Dedicated micros 2050 PTZs x2 wired from the dvr to cam02 then to cam01.... Cam01 being EOL

miaren Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 The data line run to the cameras, (cant be run as star), same grade of cable? Mmm.. Both same baud rate? and DVR?
J_G Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 It is daisy chained, but it does go to cam address 02 first, does this matter? And it is cat 5 twisted pair... Also the baud rate I will be checking as i havent been into the settings on the camera direct
