stubs Posted April 17, 2012 Posted April 17, 2012 Hi again, I'm not really sure if this it the correct place to ask, but I thought id try with it being semi-security related. Basically I've recently had a lot of deliveries to my home address and not been around to get them. Delivery drivers seem to be ignoring my hand written requests to leave parcels with the house across the road. It got me thinking about my days working for an AV company where I came across a GSM intercom on a very large home we worked on. I've had a look around and they seem to cost approx £300-400. This is a bit more than I could get past the wife for a "doorbell" so wondered if there's any cheaper way to achieve the desired result. Does anyone know of an intercom system that would call my mobile when I'm out (perhaps link into my texecom premier) and work as a regular doorbell when I'm home? It doesn't necessarily need to be GSM based, as there's a telephone point very close which could be used. I was reading that some texecom premiers can be used with an audio verification module... That might have be ideal, but my understanding is that it doesn't allow the receiving person to talk back over it. Any ideas? Stu
stubs Posted April 17, 2012 Author Posted April 17, 2012 2nd thoughts, can the Texecom speech dialler be used for this perhaps?
petrolhead Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012 The texe speech dialler is simplex speech so you need to toggle between speak and listen using your mobiles keypad. For what your after I would buy a community care dispersed alarm unit, you would get duplex speech, and if you can find a castle one the pendant trigger is dect so no wires to run outside. you can also fit radio smoke detectors, flood detectors etc.
stubs Posted April 23, 2012 Author Posted April 23, 2012 Thanks for the reply petrolhead Do you happen to know the model number of the castle alarm you mention?
