Adi Posted May 6, 2012 Posted May 6, 2012 anyone using rain x as standard on cctv systems? Just for domes or all cams? Quote I really can't be ar**** with it anymore.
Alpat Systems Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 (edited) anyone using rain x as standard on cctv systems? Just for domes or all cams? Taken from rain x website... Can it be used on transparent plastics Generally no. The increasing variety of various coatings applied to plastics makes it impossible to pre-test for compatibility under all conditions, and users should satisfy themselves by treating an area outside the normal area of vision. Please note that constant, repetitive use should be avoided due to the possible formation of stress cracking, especially on clear, curved sections We've witnessed this first hand on a takeover. On-site maintenance had reported hairline cracks on the PTZ dome covers. When questioned turns out they where using rain x several times a year. Edited May 7, 2012 by Alpat Systems 1 Quote

james.wilson Posted August 18, 2012 Posted August 18, 2012 No as it coundnt work. I have seen specialist cameras that spin an outer some to repel water. But if its an issue you need a camera with a flat glass to use a wiper.
