Guest Guest Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 Does anyone know who manufactured the access control element of this system and who developed the software after Thorn became part of Tyco. The client seems to be under the impression that it is an early "Janus System"from Grosvenor technology, I know that the intruder bit was Microtech. Can anyone help with an //.National Installer.// Engineer code for a system in the manchester area, if you can, please Pm or email me. Colin
Guest Posted August 14, 2004 Posted August 14, 2004 everything except the rios was encripted,so you have to replace the lot if you get a fault,or get some encripted gear.
Guest Guest Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Only the keypads and the panel were encrypted and we have dealt with that bit, but thanks for advice eng. Really only looking to find out who manufactured the access element.
stevehaley Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 i used to work for thorn and worked on the access system , i understand it is a early janus system , the manuals were practically the same . regards Steve Steve Haley No Entry Security Limited
TSS Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 ditto, its Janus, you can sometime upgrade the firmware with newer Janus variants speak to the bods at Grosvenor... Or Kami Toomassi at Leicester //.National Installer.// (you see, my friend, what yoo ave too doo is this...) (when you speak to Kami this will all make sense) James TSS Communication is "A question asked, and an Opinion given." I offer mine to help you with yours. Selsport69 Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 Not possible to change the firmware unless its a newer version of Siteguard. We had a site were we were taking over and the salesman quoted just to change the software. Needless to say that job never made any money. Programming is nearly 99% same as Janus. Good bit of kit Janus, very reliable apart from the old 3amp psu's that came with the IDCs or IPCs Kev
Selsport69 Posted August 15, 2004 Posted August 15, 2004 I should have the Janus manual in the office somewhere Colin. If thats any good I will photocopy it and bring it next week when I pop over. Kev
