Fault Or Normal?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Just wired a 4 sensor veritas excel up using eol.

I have no zone faults identified but the letter T appears on the rkp and the tamper light is on.

To diagnose i linked out all in use zones then checked the lid tampers on the single rkp and panel and they are fine, yet the rkp is still unwilling to let me do anything while the tamper light and T is on.

Unsure, I replaced the global TAMP hard link with a 10k resistor with no good result. I also tried without a link.

Now all i can think is that there is a short somewhere.

Only thing i noticed was that between the send/receive terminals for the rkp on the panel there is no resistance (s/c). This is without wires inserted: question - is that normal ;-/

If so, is the letter T on the rkp some global tamper or what?

The rkp is just a standard lcd veritas unit.

cheers

Yours struggling

Did you use single or double eol?

did you adjust options eol tamper on short circuit and eol tamper on open circuit?

Both need to be on for deol and only the 2nd for seol.

Having said that, as you have no zone lights on, its either the bell, the global, the rkp tamper or the panel lid tamper.

Link out bell tamper (0v to TR) with a piece of cable and link out the global tamper with a piece of wire, this leaves only rkp or panel.

The opinions I express are mine and are usually correct!

(Except when I'm wrong)(which I'm not)

Well i'm using deol, its my first install (and last) so its a learning curve.

But, ive found the problem earlier and it was indeed the bell tamper.

I'd already linked out the global tamper, but missed the bell one as i havent got the bell yet, actually im just intalling a siren inside.

So thanks, you were n the right track.... I only noticed because i re-read the manual for the third time.

Happily though, all my wiring was spot on first time round, except for that bit...

Happy days

Thanks
